Prime Minister Keir Starmer faces mounting political pressure after appointing Peter Mandelson as the UK’s ambassador to the United States. The decision has sparked widespread criticism following reports of Mandelson’s past associations with Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender. Despite Mandelson’s public denials and assertions of no wrongdoing, the controversy has intensified scrutiny on the Starmer administration. Critics argue that such connections undermine trust in diplomatic appointments, particularly given the importance of the UK-US relationship. Media coverage, including reports from NBC News’ Raf Sanchez, highlights growing unease in London and raises questions about the selection process for high-level international roles.
