Utah authorities have permanently closed the girls' campus of Provo Canyon School after investigations uncovered serious health and safety violations. The decision followed public outcry and testimony from Paris Hilton, who shared her experiences and supported victims within the troubled teen industry. Investigators cited video evidence showing a staff member physically assaulting a student as a critical factor in the closure. The facility had long been under scrutiny, but recent findings of ongoing abuse and systemic failures prompted state intervention. As the school prepares to shut down, attention is turning to the well-being of current students and efforts to hold responsible parties accountable.
