A closer look at “Oscar-Winning Composer Hildur Guðnadóttir Confirms Score for Sarah Polley’s ‘The Bell Jar’”, exactly as the source publishes it. Academy Award-winning composer Hildur Guðnadóttir, celebrated for her haunting score for “Joker,” has confirmed she is scoring Sarah Polley’s adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s “The Bell Jar.” The film, which recently wrapped production, marks the first starring role for nine-time Grammy winner Billie Eilish. Guðnadóttir, who became the first woman to win Best Original Score in over two decades, called the collaboration with fellow Oscar winner Eilish a significant creative partnership. “The Bell Jar” is Plath’s only novel, a semi-autobiographical exploration of mental illness and identity that has resonated with generations.
Polley, an Oscar winner for “Women Talking,” brings her nuanced direction to the project. The combination of Polley’s storytelling, Eilish’s screen debut, and Guðnadóttir’s evocative music positions the film as a major awards contender.
