Firefighters in France have managed to bring under control two significant wildfires that affected more than 2,000 hectares of the historic Fontainebleau forest near Paris. Despite this progress, local authorities emphasize that the fires have not been completely extinguished. The forest, known for its cultural and ecological importance, remains at risk, prompting emergency teams to stay on site for several weeks to prevent any resurgence.
The large-scale firefighting effort highlights the seriousness of the threat to this sensitive natural area. Officials continue to monitor conditions closely as ongoing summer heat increases the likelihood of further fire outbreaks. The response reflects the urgency to protect the forest’s valuable ecosystem and heritage from lasting damage.
