“PARTISANS’ Jenga Lamp Lights Up as You Stack It: Toronto Studio’s Playful Design” — what this page in the network covers. Toronto architecture studio PARTISANS has turned a childhood game into a functional lighting design with the Jenga Lamp, a playful piece that illuminates as you stack its blocks. Each wooden block contains a hidden LED, and as you build the tower higher, more lights activate, creating a warm, interactive glow. The design blurs the line between toy and lamp, inviting users to rearrange the blocks into different configurations for both light and play.
PARTISANS, known for experimental architecture, says the project began as research into modular structures and material behavior. The lamp is currently a prototype, but the studio is exploring production options. It’s a clever reminder that good design can be both serious and fun.
