Content overview: “Paul Scholes: Man United Will 'Never' Win Premier League with Maguire and Martinez at Cent”. Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has delivered a damning verdict on the club's defensive pairing, insisting the Red Devils will 'never' win the Premier League with Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez at centre-back. Speaking after United's 1-1 draw with Tottenham on Saturday, Scholes pointed to Martinez being 'bullied' by Dominic Solanke in the build-up to Spurs' equaliser as evidence of a physical vulnerability that top sides will exploit.
The former midfielder believes the duo lack the commanding presence required to anchor a title-winning backline, a concern that will resonate with fans frustrated by United's inconsistency this season. With United already adrift in the title race, Scholes' comments add pressure on manager Ruben Amorim to find a long-term defensive solution.
