Content overview: “PBS Masterpiece’s Maigret Reboot Lands on UKTV’s U&Drama and U Streaming in 114-Hour Banij”. PBS Masterpiece’s Maigret reboot has secured a UK broadcast home after UKTV acquired both seasons for its U&Drama channel and U streaming service. The deal, part of a 114-hour content agreement with Banijay Rights, brings the Georges Simenon adaptation to British audiences. Produced by Playground, the company behind Wolf Hall, in association with Banijay Rights, the series stars Benjamin Wainwright as the iconic French detective Jules Maigret.
The acquisition underscores UKTV’s strategy to bolster its drama lineup with high-profile international co-productions, while giving PBS Masterpiece’s period crime series wider exposure in a key market. For viewers, it means access to a stylish, character-driven mystery series that has already drawn attention for its modern take on Simenon’s classic character. The move also reflects the growing demand for European-set crime dramas on streaming platforms. The full version stays on the original page, which this listing opens directly.
