Pete Davidson’s debut video podcast on Netflix has prompted SAG-AFTRA to engage in negotiations over the production's terms. The show, titled The Pete Davidson Show, marks Netflix’s first original foray into video podcasts and introduces a new format that blends comedy, interviews, and live segments. As the series moves forward, the union has stepped in to ensure fair working conditions and compensation standards are met for all performers involved.
The agreement underscores the growing importance of content formats that blur the lines between traditional television and digital streaming. SAG-AFTRA’s involvement highlights the need for clear labor guidelines as platforms expand into original audiovisual programming. The collaboration between the union and Netflix sets a precedent for future productions, establishing a framework that balances innovation with performer rights.
