Here is what the page “Philadelphia Phillies Retain Don Mattingly as Manager for 2027 After Alex Cora Pursuit Fal” contains. The Philadelphia Phillies will retain Don Mattingly as manager for the 2027 season after failing to lure Alex Cora away from the Boston Red Sox, according to a report. Mattingly, who took over as interim manager during the 2026 campaign, guided the Phillies to a 79-55 record and a playoff berth. His performance apparently convinced the front office to stick with him for another year.
The decision comes after the Phillies reportedly pursued Cora, but the Red Sox manager opted to remain in Boston. Mattingly’s return provides continuity for a Phillies team that exceeded expectations under his leadership. With a full offseason to prepare, Mattingly will look to build on last season’s success and push Philadelphia deeper into October.
