“Portugal Thrash Denmark 4-2 Without Ronaldo as Klopp’s Germany Beat Serbia 2-0 in Nations ” — what this page in the network covers. The Guardian Football Oct 1, 2026 • 10:00 PM 1 views Portugal continued their perfect start to Nations League Group A4 with a commanding 4-2 win over Denmark in Copenhagen, showing no signs of missing Cristiano Ronaldo. The 41-year-old Al-Nassr forward and five-time Ballon d’Or winner left the squad before the match amid reports of a falling out with coach Jorge Jesus, his former club manager, after being benched in the previous victory over Norway.
The result keeps Portugal top of the group and demonstrates the team’s depth and tactical flexibility under Jesus. Meanwhile, Jürgen Klopp earned his first win as Germany head coach with a solid 2-0 victory over Serbia. The former Liverpool manager, who took over the national team after leaving Anfield, has quickly instilled his high-energy pressing style, and the clean sheet suggests defensive stability is coming together.
