Prime Video has announced the official release date for Bloodaxe, the highly anticipated historical drama from Michael Hirst, creator of the hit series Vikings. The show promises to blend the political intrigue of Game of Thrones with the visceral action that made Vikings a global phenomenon. Set in the turbulent Viking Age, Bloodaxe centers on the legendary Norse king Eric Bloodaxe, a figure whose brutal rise to power and eventual exile have fascinated historians for centuries.
While the streamer has not revealed the full cast, early footage suggests a sprawling production with large-scale battles and intricate court drama.
