Robocurve develops open-source tools and independent benchmarks to assess the real-world performance of robots. By moving beyond unverified demonstrations from leading labs, it provides reproducible evaluations that build trust across the robotics community. Unlike simulation-based assessments, Robocurve's approach uses physical hardware and real environments, capturing the true capabilities of robotic systems. The absence of standardized, continuous benchmarking has left the field without a reliable way to compare progress or identify genuine advancements. Real-world testing demands coordination among domain experts, evaluation engineers, and robotics practitioners, making it both complex and essential.
The project addresses a critical gap as frontier labs aim for general-purpose robotics by 2028, yet robust evaluation infrastructure remains underdeveloped. Robocurve’s Inspect Robots framework, now in version 1, enables transparent and repeatable assessments. It has already been used to score a leading robot model on actual hardware in a pilot test. By combining expertise in AI evaluation and robotics, Robocurve is accelerating the creation of trusted standards that will define the future of robot performance measurement.
