“Rosalía Rejects Kenan Thompson’s Pop-Classical Album Pitch in ‘SNL’ Promo: ‘That’s LUX’” — what this page in the network covers. Rosalía is back at Studio 8H as Saturday Night Live’s musical guest this week, sharing hosting duties with comedian Shane Gillis. In a newly released promo, cast member Kenan Thompson floats an idea for a pop-classical crossover album, and Rosalía shuts it down with a single word: ‘That’s LUX.’ The exchange is already making the rounds online, showcasing the Spanish singer’s deadpan humor and her clear vision for her own artistry.
Rosalía, who first appeared on SNL in 2022, has become one of global pop’s most distinctive voices by blending flamenco, reggaeton, and avant-garde production—so a gimmicky genre mashup was never going to fly. The promo also teases the chemistry between Gillis and the cast, setting up an episode that’s likely to draw both comedy fans and music lovers.
