Content overview: “Sacha Baron Cohen Revives Ali G in Limited-Run Movie ‘Ali G: Who Iz I?’”. Sacha Baron Cohen is bringing back his iconic satirical character Ali G in a new film titled ‘Ali G: Who Iz I?’, which hits theaters for a limited engagement this weekend only. The movie marks the return of the fictional wannabe rapper from Staines, a role Cohen originated on British television in the late 1990s and later brought to the big screen in 2002’s ‘Ali G Indahouse’. Fans of the character’s irreverent interviews and clueless hip-hop persona will have a brief window to see the new installment, as the theatrical run is intentionally short.
The limited release strategy mirrors Cohen’s recent approach with projects like ‘Borat Subsequent Moviefilm’, creating urgency and buzz. While plot details are scarce, the title suggests a self-referential exploration of Ali G’s identity and cultural impact.
