“Searchlight Pictures Taps SNL Veteran Rhys Thomas to Direct Original Feature 'Anomaly'” — what this page in the network covers. Searchlight Pictures has announced that Rhys Thomas, the acclaimed veteran behind many of 'Saturday Night Live’s' most memorable segments, will direct the upcoming original feature film 'Anomaly.' Thomas, who has been building a successful transition into high-profile directorial roles, is set to work alongside Andrew Nunnelly to adapt an original screenplay written by Michael Noonan. The project, which is being produced by Jeremy Stern for Anonymous Content, remains largely mysterious, with the studio keeping plot details strictly under wraps.
This collaboration represents a strategic move for Searchlight, as the studio continues its legacy of blending high-concept narratives with prestige filmmaking. By choosing a director with a background in the fast-paced, high-stakes environment of sketch comedy, Searchlight is betting on a unique stylistic approach to this original intellectual property. The full version stays on the original page, which this listing opens directly.
