A closer look at “Squadron 42 Steam Wishlist Opens as Cloud Imperium Targets Q2 2027 Release”, exactly as the source publishes it. Cloud Imperium Games has opened Steam wishlists for Squadron 42, the long-awaited single-player sci-fi adventure set in the Star Citizen universe, ahead of its planned Q2 2027 launch. The game puts players in the role of a rookie UEE Navy pilot in the year 2945, as the United Empire of Earth faces threats from outlaws and hostile aliens. Wishlisting on Steam allows fans to track the release and signals growing momentum for the project.
The announcement matters because Squadron 42 has been in development for over a decade, with a star-studded cast including Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, and Gillian Anderson. A Steam page is a major step toward commercial release, expanding visibility beyond Cloud Imperium's own platform. The full version stays on the original page, which this listing opens directly.
