Netflix is working on a new romantic comedy called Primal, which will be written and directed by Susanna Fogel, known for creating Ponies. Fogel will also produce the film with Melissa Wells through their production company Big Adventure. The story centers on a teenage girl named Jane who spends much of her life online.
The plot takes a turn when Jane visits a remote island, marking a significant shift from her usual virtual world. This project adds to Fogel's growing portfolio of work in film and television, highlighting her role as both a writer and director. Primal is part of Netflix's continued efforts to develop original romantic comedies with fresh voices.
