“Ted Lasso Season 4 Finale: Brendan Hunt on Brandi Carlile’s Theme Song Cover and What’s Ne” — what this page in the network covers. The Season 4 finale of Ted Lasso, released on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, surprised fans with a haunting cover of the show’s theme song performed by 11-time Grammy winner Brandi Carlile. Co-creator Brendan Hunt, who also plays Coach Beard, explained the decision, noting that the switch was a deliberate artistic choice to reflect the emotional weight of the finale.
Hunt hinted that Carlile’s version might not be a one-off, suggesting it could return in future episodes, though he stopped short of confirming it as a permanent change. The original theme, composed by Marcus Mumford and Tom Howe, has been a signature element of the series since its debut, and this new rendition marks a notable evolution in the show’s sound.
