Content overview: “Texas Tech's Big 12 Hopes Hinge on Replacing Brendan Sorsby After Will Hammond's Turnovers”. Texas Tech's Big 12 title aspirations are suddenly in question after quarterback Brendan Sorsby's abrupt departure left a glaring void under center. In Saturday's loss to Cincinnati, backup Will Hammond committed two costly turnovers and struggled in the red zone, exposing an offense that sputtered without its starter. The Red Raiders' inability to finish drives proved decisive, as they fell short in a game that could have major conference implications.
Head coach Joey McGuire now faces a critical decision: find a way to stabilize the quarterback position or risk watching the season slip away. With tough Big 12 matchups ahead, Texas Tech must quickly address the Sorsby-sized hole or their championship hopes will fade fast.
