A closer look at “The Beast Review: Samuel L. Jackson Elevates a Headache-Inducing Action Thriller”, exactly as the source publishes it. The new action thriller The Beast starts off as a noisy and clumsy film, but it soon becomes a case study in the enduring star power of Samuel L. Directed by Renny Harlin, the movie pits Jackson's character against a rogue lion, and the premise is as ridiculous as it sounds. Yet Jackson's presence alone nearly saves the picture from its own chaotic editing and weak script.
The film's action sequences are often disorienting, with rapid cuts and shaky camerawork that induce more headaches than thrills. Still, Jackson commands every scene he's in, bringing a gravitas that the material doesn't deserve. For fans of the actor, The Beast is worth a watch just to see him do what he does best: elevate mediocre material with sheer charisma.
