Citizens in Tirana, Albania, have been actively protesting against the development of a luxury resort connected to the Trump family. Known as the 'Flamingo Revolution,' these demonstrations have persisted for over three weeks. The main concern centers on the planned construction on a southern island, which activists fear will harm the nesting sites of protected flamingos. Environmental advocates and locals are urging authorities to stop the project to safeguard the area's unique biodiversity.
Journalist David Gilberg is reporting directly from the scene, documenting the growing resistance among residents who oppose the involvement of foreign business interests in Albania’s natural environment. The movement highlights tensions between economic development and conservation efforts, reflecting wider debates about protecting the nation's ecological heritage. The protests emphasize the community’s determination to preserve critical wildlife habitats from potentially damaging commercial ventures.
