Content overview: “The Mummy 4: Oded Fehr Jokes The Mummy 3 Doesn't Exist, But John Hannah Disagrees”. As production on The Mummy 4 ramps up for its October 15, 2027 release, franchise star Oded Fehr is reigniting a long-running fan debate. Fehr, who returns as the stoic Medjai warrior Ardeth Bay, recently joked that only two Mummy films actually count — a playful dismissal of 2008's The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. His co-star John Hannah, who played the bumbling Jonathan Carnahan in the first three films, firmly disagrees, defending the third installment's place in the saga.
The lighthearted exchange highlights the enduring affection and divided opinions surrounding the action-adventure series, which first launched in 1999 and became a global box office phenomenon. With The Mummy 4 now in full swing, the franchise is poised to introduce a new generation to its blend of horror, humor, and spectacle.
