Here is what the page “The Purge Returns in 2027 with New IDW Dark Comic from Blumhouse, Dan Watters, and Juan Jo” contains. The Purge franchise is set for a chilling comeback in late 2027, this time in the pages of a new comic series. Blumhouse, the production company behind the hit horror films, is partnering with IDW Dark to bring an original story to life. The creative team includes acclaimed writer Dan Watters and artist Juan José Ryp, both known for their work in dark, visceral storytelling.
This marks the first time The Purge will be explored in comic form under this partnership, expanding the universe beyond the screen. Fans of the films can expect the same tension and social commentary that made the series a cultural phenomenon, now rendered in Ryp’s detailed, unsettling art style. The full version stays on the original page, which this listing opens directly.
