Here is what the page “Tom Willis Returns to England with Bordeaux to Show Borthwick What He's Missing” contains. Tom Willis, the Bordeaux No 8, returns to England this Friday as his club begins its Champions Cup defense against Gloucester. Willis left England after receiving an enhanced contract, a move that was unprecedented at the time, and has since been in outstanding form for Bordeaux, pulling up trees and forests in his path.
England's No 8 depth is shallow, and head coach Steve Borthwick would likely love to have Willis in his squad for the upcoming World Cup. However, despite a hypothetical free pass to pick one player based outside England, the consensus is that Jack Willis – Tom's brother, Toulouse captain and two-time Top 14 player of the season – would be the obvious choice, but in reality, neither is likely to be selected.
