Here is what the page “Toto Wolff Slams 'Lunatics' Claiming He Favours Kimi Antonelli Over George Russell” contains. Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has hit back at online critics who accuse him of favouring rookie Kimi Antonelli over George Russell, branding them 'lunatics hiding behind screens'. Speaking ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, Wolff dismissed the claims as baseless, insisting both drivers are treated equally and that such speculation is harmful to the team's morale. The Austrian's outburst comes amid heightened scrutiny over Mercedes' driver lineup, with Antonelli set to replace Lewis Hamilton in 2025.
Wolff's frustration underscores the pressures of managing a top F1 team in the social media age, where anonymous abuse can distort narratives. His suggestion that critics 'watch Teletubbies instead' highlights his disdain for armchair pundits. As Mercedes navigates a transitional season, Wolff's defence of Russell signals unity within the team, but the controversy may linger if results don't follow.
