The Tour de France is experiencing major disruptions as severe wildfires and extreme heat impact the southern part of France. The third stage of the race, scheduled for July 7, will pass close to active fire zones in the southwest, leading local authorities to take swift safety measures. In response, organizers and officials have advised fans not to gather along the race route to ensure the safety of spectators and athletes alike.
This precaution aims to keep emergency access clear and avoid putting supporters at risk from rapidly changing fire conditions. The combination of unprecedented high temperatures and dry surroundings has created a dangerous environment, forcing organizers to carefully balance the continuation of this historic event with the need to protect public safety.
