The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is facing ongoing maintenance issues despite a recent extensive renovation that cost over $14 million. The pool is set to be drained again due to persistent problems such as algae growth and paint peeling. These issues have raised concerns about the durability and effectiveness of the recent repairs.
Former President Donald Trump has blamed the pool's condition on vandalism, claiming that a significant 350-foot cut was deliberately made in the structure. He also mentioned arrests related to this alleged act, but has not provided public evidence to substantiate his statements. The lack of clear proof has led to scrutiny from journalists and the public, with questions mounting about the true cause of the damage and the overall state of this historic landmark.
