Former U.S. President Donald Trump has called on international allies and China to assist in ensuring the security of the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing the strategic importance of the waterway for global energy flows. In a recent interview on Insight with Haslinda Amin, he argued that coordinated efforts are essential to prevent disruptions amid rising tensions in the region. The discussion highlighted growing concerns over maritime safety and the potential for escalation involving Iran.
The program also addressed recent developments, including a reported strike on Dubai International Airport and its implications for regional stability. Analysts noted that halted vessel traffic through the strait poses significant risks to global shipping lanes, particularly for oil exports. With multiple actors involved, the situation underscores the need for diplomatic engagement and multilateral cooperation to maintain open passage and avoid further conflict.
