The United States and Iran have formally agreed to end their conflict, with the peace deal set to take effect this Friday. President Donald Trump has authorized reopening the Strait of Hormuz and lifting the naval blockade on Iranian ports, measures that will be implemented once the agreement is officially signed. These steps aim to reduce global trade tensions and resume normal shipping activities in the region.
A formal signing ceremony is scheduled to take place in Switzerland, where Vice President JD Vance will be present, and President Trump may also attend. This initial memorandum of understanding marks the beginning of a 60-day period dedicated to further negotiations to establish comprehensive, long-term peace terms. The international community is cautiously hopeful as the deadline approaches.
