Hadrian, a company specializing in advanced manufacturing, has partnered with the US Navy to develop a large-scale automated facility in Alabama. This 2.2 million square foot plant is designed to produce parts for Virginia-class attack submarines and Columbia-class ballistic missile submarines. The collaboration aims to enhance the Navy's submarine production capabilities through innovative manufacturing techniques.
Chris Power, CEO of Hadrian, discussed the partnership during a special edition of “Bloomberg Tech” from the Hill and Valley Forum in Washington. The facility represents a significant investment in modernizing submarine component manufacturing, supporting the Navy's strategic goals with increased efficiency and production capacity. This initiative underscores the growing role of automation in defense manufacturing.
