Here is what the page “Wandering Cat's Cage: Fantagraphics and MSX Debut Haunting Dystopian Manga” contains. Fantagraphics and MSX: Mangasplaining Extra have teamed up to release Wandering Cat's Cage, a new dystopian manga that blends grim futurism with an unsettling psychological edge. The exclusive preview reveals a world where survival is uncertain, and the line between human and animal blurs. The story centers on a wandering cat navigating a decaying urban landscape, but the feline's journey is more than a simple quest—it's a metaphor for resilience in a broken society.
Readers of dark speculative fiction will find echoes of classic dystopias, yet the manga's visual style and pacing set it apart. Why it matters: the collaboration between a major indie publisher and a curated manga initiative signals growing Western appetite for niche Japanese storytelling. With no exact release date announced, fans can only speculate on how the cat's cage—literal or metaphorical—will close.
