Here is what the page “What Is the Oldest Samsung Device Still Getting Software Updates in 2026?” contains. Samsung has committed to extended software support for its Galaxy devices, but not all models are equal. In 2026, the oldest Samsung device still receiving updates is the Galaxy S21 series, launched in January 2021. These phones are covered by Samsung's four-year major OS update and five-year security patch policy, meaning they will get their final security updates in early 2026.
For users holding onto older models like the Galaxy S20 or Note 20, support has already ended, leaving them vulnerable to security risks. This matters because software updates are critical for security, performance, and access to new features. Samsung's policy is one of the longest in the Android ecosystem, second only to Google's Pixel 8 series with seven years of support.
