Meta has introduced Muse Spark, marking its most advanced AI model to date and the inaugural offering from the newly established Meta Superintelligence Lab led by Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang. This launch coincides with a significant increase in Meta's investment, with capital expenditures expected to reach up to $135 billion this year, nearly twice the amount spent last year. This financial commitment underscores the importance of innovations coming out of Wang's lab.
Unlike Meta's earlier Llama models, which were open-source, Muse Spark will be proprietary. The company plans to provide access through a paid API in the future, signaling a shift towards monetizing this new technology. This development highlights Meta’s strategic move to commercialize its AI advancements while investing heavily in cutting-edge research and product development.
