Indonesia and the United States have reached a reciprocal trade agreement that allows Indonesia to secure a 19% tariff. This deal is considered mutually beneficial by officials from both nations. Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, noted that the agreement will come into force 90 days after both countries complete the necessary legal formalities. However, he also mentioned that the terms could be adjusted if both parties consent to changes.
The arrangement aims to strengthen economic ties and promote fair trade between Indonesia and the United States. While the details of the trade deal are still subject to formal approval processes, the current framework reflects a balanced approach that supports the interests of both countries. This development is seen as a positive step toward enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade and economic matters.
