A new coastal walking route now encircles the entire coastline of England, officially opening as the longest managed footpath of its kind in the world. Spanning 2,689 miles, the King Charles III England Coast Path offers a continuous trail along the shore, enabling hikers to experience diverse landscapes from start to finish. Created by Natural England, the path connects existing routes and provides access to remote areas previously difficult to reach on foot.
The journey averages 15 miles per day, meaning completion would take nearly six months without breaks. The route passes through varied terrain, including cliffs, estuaries, beaches, and historic towns, offering both scenic beauty and cultural insight. It marks a significant development in public access to the nation’s coastline, supporting outdoor recreation and environmental awareness.
