Here is what the page “YouTube Denies Testing Hidden Dislike Button After User Screenshots Spark Speculation” contains. YouTube is not testing hiding the dislike button on videos, a company spokesperson told The Verge on Wednesday, refuting earlier reports based on screenshots shared on X. However, the spokesperson's statement clarifies that no such test is underway. This matters because the dislike button has been a contentious feature; YouTube removed public dislike counts in 2021 to protect creators from harassment, and any further changes could affect user feedback and creator experience.
For now, the dislike button remains in its usual place, and users can continue to use it as before. YouTube's quick clarification underscores its sensitivity to user and creator concerns about platform changes.
